~ Ys: Age of Heroes Tagline
Ys: The Age of Heroes is a tabletop roleplaying game based on the universe of Ys, taking place 50 years after the last sighting (and assumed adventure) of Adol and 100 years after the events of Ys II[1]. The game includes official lore-correct locations that haven't appeared in any other entry in the series.[2]
Description[]
Ancient evils stir from their age-old slumber, threatening the idyllic lands of Eresia. From secluded villages to the ruins of forgotten kingdoms, danger lurks around every corner. Will you rise to the challenge and carve your own legend? Forge your own destiny in the action-packed world of Ys! This exciting tabletop roleplaying game brings the vibrant lands of the acclaimed video game series to life, putting you in the role of history's next great adventurer. Following in the footsteps of Adol Christin, embark on perilous quests, charting unexplored wilderness and venturing into the depths of monster-infested ruins.
Ys: Age of Heroes invites you to immerse yourself in a world of limitless adventure, powered by the epic Promethium System. This system blends fast, intuitive gameplay with deep customization, offering players the tools to create their own legendary heroes and shape the fate of the world. Whether you’re new to tabletop role-playing games or a seasoned adventurer, the mechanics of Ys: Age of Heroes provide a seamless blend of strategy, storytelling, and action. Create your own hero, choose your path from 16 unique classes, 14 unique backgrounds, and hundreds of skills and abilities - each offering thrilling possibilities.
A System Built for Adventure
At the heart of the Promethium System is the Action Roll — a simple yet powerful mechanic that drives every daring leap, dramatic spell, and intense battle. With just a roll of a d20 and the addition of numerous Bonus Dice from your character’s abilities, you can overcome the toughest of challenges. Each action is measured against a Victory Sum (VS) set by the Game Master, and the results of your success or failure unfold in thrilling, unpredictable ways.
Combat is fast-paced and cinematic, with Burst Dice adding explosive potential to every roll. Hit the maximum on a die and you get to roll again, pushing your character to heroic feats of strength or skill. In a world where both strategy and luck play a role, every decision can turn the tide of battle or change the course of the story.
Unleash Your Potential with Elite Classes
In Ys: Age of Heroes, your class is where you begin, not your destiny. As your Progress you can unlock Elite classes, each with powers reminicent of your favorite heroes, and villains, from across the series. Be it the darkness of the Nox, of the might of Dragons, Ys: Age of Heroes offers unparalleled freedom to craft your hero.
Endless Customization with Talents
Your character in Ys: Age of Heroes is defined by what you can do, and your options are limitless. With Skill Points earned as you play, you can invest in a wide range of Skill Trees, from combat techniques and practical survival skills to scholarly pursuits and magical arts. Every skill point you spend adds another layer of depth to your character, allowing for nearly infinite combinations of talents and abilities.
As you advance, you’ll unlock Talents, which grant powerful new abilities and let you perform incredible feats that set your hero apart. These talents can turn the tide of battle, help you solve complex puzzles, or unlock new narrative opportunities, making your hero a legend in their own right.
Forge Your Legend with Deeds – No Limits, Only Glory!
In Ys: Age of Heroes, your story is never constrained by arbitrary level caps or limits. The path to greatness is defined by your Deeds—the heroic actions, daring exploits, and unforgettable moments that carve your name into the annals of history. As you venture through ancient ruins, face down colossal beasts, and unearth forgotten relics, your hero’s legend grows, unlocking new heights of power and prestige.
Deeds that Define You
In addition to traditional leveling, Ys: Age of Heroes celebrates your character's milestones with Deeds. Every daring triumph or pivotal decision becomes a stepping stone in your journey, granting you new perks and benifits. Whether it’s vanquishing a powerful foe, outwitting a cunning adversary, or solving ancient mysteries, every Deed brings you closer to unlocking your character’s full potential.
With no level limits holding you back, your hero can continually evolve, mastering new skills, gaining incredible talents, and achieving feats that push the boundaries of what is possible. In Ys: Age of Heroes, there’s always another challenge to overcome, another mystery to solve, and another legend to be written.
The Sky’s the Limit
In this world, there’s no ceiling to what your character can achieve. Want to master multiple combat styles? Unlock the deepest secrets of ancient magic? Command armies or explore uncharted lands? Ys: Age of Heroes gives you the freedom to grow without restriction. Your progress is tied not to arbitrary experience points but to the actions that shape your story.
No limits. No boundaries. Only the legend you choose to forge.[3]
