Sahad Nautilus (サハド・ノートラス ) is introduced in Ys VIII: Lacrimosa of Dana as a fisherman from the Greek region who was a passenger aboard the Lombardia before being washed ashore the Isle of Seiren. He is a lighthearted and sincere man who joins Adol and Castaway Village in their journey, hoping to return back home to his family.
Profile[]
Appearance[]
Sahad is a large-framed man with dark skin, a beard, and yellow eyes. He wears a jacket with rolled up sleeves over a striped buttoned shirt, and a belt with an attached pouch. He also wears a hand-woven necklace, string bracelets, and has tattoos covering his arms, chest, and torso. He ties his teal hair in a short ponytail and wears a headband. In battle, Sahad wields an anchor he found on the seashore of the Isle of Seiren.
Background[]
Sahad is a professional fisherman from Creet who has been fishing at sea since childhood. Several years ago, he rescued a wealthy man's daughter during a fishing accident. The two developed feelings for each other, got married, and had a daughter.
Personality[]
Sahad is a straightforward and down to earth person who leads a simple life as a fisherman caring for his beloved wife and daughter. His lack of etiquette and sometimes rather obscene behavior and manner of speech often caused him to clash with fellow party member Laxia, who grew up in a noble family. He seems to be good with children and quickly befriends Ricotta as she joins their party.
He is very kindhearted and sensitive—even being the first to cry when things get too emotional.
Ys VIII: Lacrimosa of Dana[]
Sahad is the third playable character join Adol's party on his journey throughout the island. He meets Adol and Laxia when running away from Avalodragil.
At the end of the game, he returns home to Creet and reunites with his wife and daughter. Though the details are scarce, it is said he lived the rest of his days in peace.
Character Notes[]
Gameplay[]
Sahad uses an anchor in battle that has high attack power and can cover a wide area. He specializes in dealing high amounts of damage in short bursts, destroying armored foes quickly and allowing his comrades to finish them off with little resistance. His weakness is that his attack and recovery speed is slower than normal, which can make him vulnerable to counter attacks if timed poorly.
