Port Rimorge (港町リモージュ Minatochō Rimōju) is a town located on Canaan Island, inhabited by various humans who have survived shipwrecking due to The Great Vortex.
Background[]
Though there has been a human settlement on Canaan Island before, Port Rimorge has been transformed into the large town it currently is due to the efforts of the Altaginian merchant Baslam. After he was washed ashore Canaan Island around 13 AC, ten years before the events of Ys VI: The Ark of Napishtim, he started working on expanding the town and became the de facto leader of Port Rimorge. In order to collect the necessary ressources to expand the town, he and his Company have cut down trees and destroyed old Rehdan ruins, which has lead to the current discord between the Rehdan people and the inhabitants of Port Rimorge. Baslam shows no remorse for his actions, stating that he just aimed to improve his and the other inhabitants' lives.
