The player character, mostly referred to as Adventurer (冒険者), is the protagonist of the non-canon Ys VI Online: The Ark of Napishtim. Their name as well as their class can be decided by the player at the start of the game, with the class defining the character's base appearance, gender and fighting style. They are a good friend of Adol and have already been travelling alongside him for a while by the start of the game.
Classes[]
Upon character creation the player is asked four personality questions by Alma with three possible responses for each question. The player is then recommended one of the starting classes based on their answers, but can still opt to change to any of the other starting classes. The character can be promoted from their starting class to one of the associated advanced classes upon reaching level 48 and completing a set of missions. It is also possible to change to a different classes using a Class Scroll, which can be bought from the premium shop.
- Initial classes:
- Warrior: use sword and shield and close-range combat.
- Mage: use magic staves and wide range attack.
- Assassin: use dual blades to attack with high speed.
- Ranger: use bow for ranged attacks and healings.
- Samurai: use tachi/katanas for close, high-speed and wide attacks.
- Advanced Classes
- Knight: Advanced class of Warriors that focuses on defense.
- Berserker: Advanced class of Warriors that focuses on attack.
- Ninja: Advanced class of Assassins that focuses on stealth.
- Navigator: Advanced class of Assassins that focuses on luck.
- Ice Mage: Advanced class of Mages that focuses on status effects.
- Pyro Mage: Advanced class of Mages that focuses on wide range attacks.
- Windwalker: Advanced class of Rangers that focuses on speed.
- Priest: Advanced class of Rangers that focuses on healing.
- Shura: Advanced class for Samurai.
- Demon Hunter: Advanced class for any of the initial classes that focuses on long range physical damage.
- Dragon Fist: Advanced class for any of the initial classes that focuses on melee attacks that get stronger with lower health.
