Karna (カーナ) is a cheerful, honest young girl who lives in Comodo, the treetop village that has survived in the forest of Celceta. She is the daughter of the village chief Asad.

Appearance[]
Karna is a young woman with green eyes and bright orange hair tied into a high ponytail. She wears a tribal headband, teal earrings, and a tassel necklace. Her outfit consists of a green bustier over a midriff baring bodysuit, paired with matching shorts.
She wears matching teal fingerless gloves, large brown detached sleeves, and a red and yellow sash that's wrapped around her hip and is fastened with a round buckle. Her right leg is covered by a single thigh-high, while her left leg is wrapped with brown straps and a belt holding her throwing knives. Finally, she wears brown boots with yellow fringe.
Personality[]
Karna is a cheerful and open-hearted girl who possesses the toughness and unflinching resolve needed to survive in the forest.
At the same time, as the eldest daughter, she's naturally caring and attentive to others. Her skill as a hunter and warrior is exceptional, earning her the respect of the villagers in Comodo.
Ys: Memories of Celceta[]
She first met Adol before he lost his memories. At the time, Adol was venturing through the forest of Celceta. Mistaking him for a wild animal, Karna accidentally threw a knife at him, which he deflected with his sword. After apologizing for the attack, she brought him back to her village, Comodo. After Adol introduced himself to Asad, the village chief, Karna and her brother Remnos gave him a tour of the village.

Soon after Adol’s departure, trouble begins to brew in Comodo, as several hunters go missing. When an amnesiac Adol later returns to the village with Duren, the two are met with suspicion and hostility. Many of the villagers believe that Adol is somehow responsible for the disappearances. Fortunately, Karna intervenes and dissuades the others from attacking him and Duren.
Later, when the village is attacked by the missing hunters, now wearing strange masks, and Asad is gravely wounded during the assault, Karna becomes determined to uncover the truth. She temporarily joins Adol’s party to investigate.
Upon arriving at an underground cave where the missing hunters were last seen, a battle with the masked hunters ensues, and one of the masked men reveals himself to be Remnos.
Shortly afterward, the true mastermind behind the kidnappings, Bami the sorceress, appears. She explains that the kidnappings were carried out to test the power of the masks. Bami also mocks Karna by having Remnos attack her and claims that he has always been the superior warrior, merely hiding his talents to avoid hurting his hardworking sister’s feelings.
Devastated by what has happened, Karna leaves the party. She doesn’t reappear until Adol completes his quest in Selray Village and returns to Casnan. There, Karna arrives on her own and tells Adol that she intends to find Remnos and bring him back to Comodo.
Later, she discovers that Remnos has joined the Romun imperial forces of his own free will. Still, Karna refuses to give up, believing that her brother is hiding something. Eventually, while searching for the half of the Mask of the Moon on Mt. Vesuvio, Remnos reveals that he has been pretending to serve Gruda, Bami, and Gadis in order to spy on them and assist Adol’s group from within. However, his cover is blown, and Bami curses him with a slow, agonizing death. Fortunately, Karna and the others arrive just in time to defeat Bami and save Remnos. Karna continues to accompany Adol's party to help bring an end to the chaos caused by Gruda's schemes across Celceta.
Her fate after the events of the game is unknown, but it is likely that she returned to Comodo with Remnos.

- She seems to be a big eater as she enjoys dreaming about food in her sleep, which can be shown when you sleep at the tents.
- One of her skills is a spinning kick, which is a nod to her introduction in Ys IV: Mask of the Sun where she would use a similar spinning kick to defeat the monsters surrounding her.
- She is also quite oblivious to love as even when her father Asad mentions that Adol would be a good match for Karna, she thinks he means Adol would make a great sparring partner.
