Gadis (ガディス) is a burly man claiming to be a ‘beastmaster’ whom Adol and his party encounter during their adventure. Vulgar and aggressive, he uses the beasts he's tamed to do his bidding and slaughters all who stand in his way.
Ys: Memories of CelcetaEdit
Gadis appears at the end of the story arc involving Adol and his party's investigation of poisoning of the river nearby the village of Selray. Gadis reveals himself to be a culprit behind poisoning as he viciously hurt the young Sparda in order to tame it, which angered the full-grown beasts and made them poison the river in retaliation. After mocking Ozma's belief in sacred beasts, Gadis disappears.
Gadis confronts Adol and his party at the end of the dungeon in Lake Tolemes. He uses the power of the replica mask to transform into a gigantic abomination but nonetheless he is defeated.
- Gadis' VA in Ys: Memories of Celceta is same as one in The Dawn of Ys: Tesshō Genda (玄田 哲章). This is a nod to Gadis' infamous battle cry "Bukoroshiteyaru!" (ブッ殺してやる, which translates to "I will break you!"), which could be heard many times throughout the whole boss battle against him in The Dawn of Ys.
- It is not stated in the game whether Gadis is a member of the Clan of Darkness, but it is very likely considering his powers.
- In Ys II Chronicles+, he is referenced by Dumdum the Topus in the Moat of Burnedbless, who recites the following song: "Celcetan bridge is falling down, falling down, falling down... Celcetan bridge is falling down, 'cause Gadis cut it! ♪"
