Flair Rall (フレア＝ラル) is introduced in Ys II as a doctor from Lance Village. Despite appearances, Dr. Flair Rall is a man of action who is willing to venture outside his village to offer medical treatment, regardless of the risks. After the events of Ys II he accompanies Adol and Dogi on their journey through Obelia Gulf and Celceta in search the original strain of Celcetan flowers, said to be effective in treating intractable illnesses.

Ys II: Ancient Ys Vanished: The Final Chapter[]
Banoa asked Adol to deliver a letter to Dr. Flair Rall revealing that her daughter, Lilia, was suffering from a severe disease, but the doctor hadn't returned to the village in a while. The adventurer then heads for the clinic and finds out that Rall is trapped in the Rasteenie Mine due to a cave-in blocking a passage, Adol at the request of Leonor Rall and Nurse Sarina sets off to the mine to rescue him.
Inside the mine, Adol uses a pickaxe to break through a wall of crumbled rocks and proceeds into the chamber where Flair was trapped, while there he hands Banoa's letter to the doctor, after reading it Flair asks Adol to find two ingredients necessary to make the medicine needed to cure Lilia, those being a Roda tree fruit and a Celceta Flower, the doctor no longer trapped, returns to his clinic waiting for Adol's return. When the adventurer returns with the ingredients, Flair Rall alongside his nurse then mix the medicine.
Ys IV: The Dawn of Ys[]
Flair had travelled all the way from Esteria, seemingly on his own, to the land of Celceta in search of Celcetan flowers which he heard could be used to create medicine that can cure any ailment. He settled in the town of Arieda for a while due to demons roaming the land, which made exploration dangerous. While there he offered his services to the people of the village along with his apprentice "Bill". Later he met with Adol and introduced him to village elder "Makarl".
Some time after, Adol had rescued a young boy named Tim from a monster in the Ice Mountain, who had been poisoned and was slowly turning to stone, the boy's grandfather asked the adventurer to save his grandson once more. Adol then traveled back to the fire village of Arieda and asked Dr. Flair for assistance and warped both of them to the water village of Libra, where the boy was at. Flair then said that the only way to save Tim was to brew a special cure-all elixir that required the fabled Celcetan flower. When Adol gathered one and returned to Flair, he warped both back to Arieda, so the doctor could finally begin making the elixir. Unfortunately, he could not prepare it properly on his own and needed the help of Dr. Klaus from the town of Minea, so Adol, once again, warped the doctor and himself, but this time to Promalock, where both of them boarded a ship on route to Esteria. While there, the Romun Empire with the help of Gadis from the Clan of Darkness had kidnapped both Lilia and Keith Fact and were holding them hostage at the top of Darm Tower. Adol then climbed the tower once more and saved the day again. Waiting for him just outside was Flair who had successfully completed the cure-all elixir with the help of Klaus, so both of them warped back to the water village and cured Tim of his condition.
In the epilogue Flair Rall appears alongside his apprentice Bill, he had decided to stay in Celceta until at least his apprentice had grown up, also he continued to leave his clinic open to the public.
Ys IV: Mask of the Sun[]
Just as when Adol was about to set sail from Esteria to Promalock, Flair rushed towards the ship and hopped on, he told the adventurer that he wanted to come along to search for a Celceta flower so he could brew a powerful panacea. After arriving at Promalock, Flair made some travel arrangements with a caravan of merchants, which also happened be on their way to Celceta. They later arrive at Casnan and the doctor decides to stop by the local inn, Adol then gets himself thrown in jail and tries escape with the help of Duren, but gets caught, fortunately the Romun commander in charge pardons him and he returns to the inn to spend the night, alongside Flair Rall. The next day they went their separate ways, Adol would be going on a journey across Celceta to find out whoever sent that message in a bottle, while Flair decided to stay and ask around for any information pertaining to the Celceta flower.
Flair and Adol reunite in the town of Selray, the doctor had been lagging behind the adventurer, but he managed to cure Remnos from Comodo village, the villagers also provided him with some information pertaining to the Celceta flower which lead him to Selray, while there he introduced Adol to the village elder. After the adventurer spoke with the elder, Flair revealed that he had found the flower he had been seeking and that the plant's medicinal properties were even stronger than he had expected, and also that Dr. Klaus had sent him a letter stating that demons had overrun Esteria once more. Since Flair had to attend to a patient in the village he could not accompany Adol to Esteria, so he asked the adventurer to bring some Celceta medicine to Klaus.
In the epilogue Flair meets up with Adol who is alongside Leeza, Karna, Remnos, Duren. Dogi and Lilia and soon after departs on a ship with Adol, Dogi and Lilia.
Ys IV: Mask of The Sun: A New Theory[]
Flair accompanies Adol to Promalock where he makes travel arrangements with a merchant caravan. Later in the game they meet up in Selray.
Ys: Memories of Celceta[]
Flair is only mentioned in two short cutscenes, which are part of Adol's memories.
Flair along with Adol and Dogi had traveled all the way from Promalock and were only allowed a moments rest when the group arrived at the border town of Casnan in Celceta. While there Flair, with the help of Adol, managed to gather some Celceta flowers as he had intended. With his goal fulfilled it was time for him to return home to start experimenting with them, so Dogi accompanied the Doctor to the port town of Promalock, temporarily leaving the company of Adol.
Ys X: Nordics[]
He travels with Adol and Dogi seeking the original strain of Celcetan flowers, which is thought to be effective against incurable diseases. He also starts lending a hand to the clinic in Carnac during his travels.
