The Zemeth Sanctum (ゼメスの聖地 Zemesu no Seichi?) is a shrine to Alma, whom the Rehda revere as a goddess. It is located on Zemeth Island, the smallest of the Canaan Islands. Alma's body of White Emelas is standing in the middle of the sanctum, which was left behind after she sublimated.

This section contains plot details of Ys VI: The Ark of Napishtim.
Do not read it if you have not played the game and intend to do so in the future.

The first time Adol Christin reaches the Zemeth Sanctum, the voice of Alma speaks to him and grants him access to the third and final Emelas sword, Ericcil, which he finds on a pedestal in the room behind the main sanctum. When he leaves the sanctum he encounters Geis, who went there to place protective talismans on the three Emelas pillars and warns Adol not to remove them.

After Adol retrieves the last part of the Mirror of Zeme and Olha restores it, they receive a vision that Raba, Baslam and his Company went to the Sanctum. Baslam ordered his men to remove the talismans, despite Raba's warnings. By the time Adol arrives at the Sanctum, Baslam and his Company have been defeated and the three Homunculi, acting as the keys, have removed the seal of the Great Vortex. This allows the Romun Fleet to approach the Canaan Islands.

Later, after Adol freed the imprisoned Rehda from the Romun ships, Ernst is shown to have occupied the Zemeth Sanctum with his troops. After defeating his troops, Dogi and Ladoc confront him in front of the statuesque body of Alma in order to retrieve the kidnapped Isha. Ernst then uses his sword, the Black Key Almarion, to destroy Alma's body, which activates the Ark of Napishtim. Ladoc and Dogi are able to escape from Zemeth Island by boat, but the area becomes completely inaccessible thereafter.
