The Dark Knight is a centaur-like boss featured in Ys IV: Mask of the Sun.
Biography[]
One of the best Knights in the Clan of Darkness, Gruda dispatches him to Esteria to procure one of the Eye gems mandatory to one of his plans for worldwide conquest. Once there, the knight proceeds to lead an assault on the countryside in search of the gem. Adol arrives to fight off the Dark Knight's assault and when Adol confronts him, the Dark Knight sadistically proceeds to fight him after making a sadistic vow to flay the skin from the hero's flesh. However, Adol prevailed and slays the knight in battle.
Boss Battle[]
In the first round of the fight, the Dark Knight will run on all four legs and charge at Adol while assisted with several energy spheres. Upon being bested, the knight loses the lower half of his body and proceeds to float around the arena to launch beams from his blade while spears get launched from offscreen.
