Recurring Characters are characters who have appeared more than once in the Ys series. If a character only appears briefly or as a voice-only, then those appearance are considered cameos.

Main characters[]

The main protagonist Adol and his friend Dogi appear in almost all Ys media. The only game that they both do not appear in is Ys Origin (although Adol is playable in Arena Mode). Dogi only made a small cameo appearance during the end credits of Ys II: Ancient Ys Vanished: The Final Chapter, and also did not appear as a playable character or an NPC in Ys: Memories of Celceta, appearing only in Adol's memories.

Side characters[]

Raba debuted in Ys I: Ancient Ys Vanished: Omen and appears again in Ys VI: The Ark of Napishtim.

Dr. Flair Rall debuted in Ys II. He appears again in Ys II Special, Ys IV: Mask of the Sun (and its PS2 remake), Ys IV: The Dawn of Ys, and Ys X: Nordics. He is also mentioned in Ys: Memories of Celceta in two of Adol's memories.

Terra debuted in Ys V: Lost Kefin, Kingdom of Sand and appears again in Ys VI: The Ark of Napishtim.

Geis first debuted in Ys VI: The Ark of Napishtim and later becomes a party member in Ys SEVEN. Ernst's homonculi fairies (Sera, Jue, and Xisa) appear along with him. He cameoed in Ys IX: Monstrum Nox during the ending credits.

Griselda first debuted in Ys: Memories of Celceta. She reappears in Ys VIII: Lacrimosa of Dana as one of the passengers of Lombardia and later become a castaway just as other passengers.
