Atsushi Shirakawa (白川篤史 ) born on October 4, 1971 in Tokyo, Japan is a composer and arranger that previously worked at Falcom, he joined the company sometime before March 1991 and left sometime after June 2002.
As one of the first members to join Falcom Sound Team jdk, he has solidified his work as an important piece of Falcom musical history. As he first collaborated with Mieko Ishikawa, his work tended to be influenced by her. Shirakawa can be told apart by most composers through his combination of FM and SSG (square wave) channels that play the same harmonic parts in order to add more depth to music. Another thing that helps with identifying him with his later FM works for Falcom is the distinct FM snare drum he used. This usually works very well, as he put in little variations between the FM and SSG parts to keep things interesting. Shirakawa excelled at music with dissonance as well as songs that have a very memorable melody.
