Affinity

Affinity measures how much Adol knows about a character and how close they are. The more they interact with each other, the higher affinity they have between them. Starting from Ys VIII: Lacrimosa of Dana, the player can see the Affinity rank between Adol and his Party Members and other major characters in the game in the journal page.

Affinity can be raised by completing side quest, gifting certain items to certain character, or speaking with them at certain point of time within the game. Usually when affinity ranked up, a new character note will be updated in their journal entry, and their raid skill will level up.
